Image capture

Currently I am using a Nikon D200 and a Nikon D70 as backup. I shoot in RAW mode for maximum image quality.

Image security

Images are not deleted from the cameras compact flash card until they have been copied to the main computer hard drive and also to two separate independent hard drives as well as to a high quality DVD. There will never be less than two copies, even in the event of one of the hard drives breaking, and will be restored to three copies with a new replacement hard drive as required.

Image development

Images are developed in Adobe Camera Raw 4.1 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 using a colour calibrated monitor to ensure fidelity between editing and output to screen or print.

Prints

Prints are made using a Hewlett Packard B9180 professional A3+ pigment photo printer using the Adobe RGB colour space for a wide tonal range. This printer contains its own photometer in order to adjust the ink jet process to achieve consistent colour, essential to accurate reproduction of the edited work.Prints are made either on HP Advanced papers or Hahnemuhle Photo Rag for the highest quality and 200 year fade resistance.

It should be noted that images are usually viewed over the internet using a screen or monitor that is not colour calibrated. If this is the case there is likely to be a slight variation in colour and tone between the image seen on the monitor and the real life print which is accurate to the colour calibrated monitor which was used to edit and develop it. In these circumstances the print will often appear a little warmer and slightly darker than when viewed on an uncalibrated monitor or screen.
